DWTS’ James Maslow helps make Hannah’s prom night special

High school senior Hannah Wackernagle was voted prom queen Friday night. That alone might not sound so extraordinary, but the journey there was a special one.

Hannah, who has Down syndrome, began her quest by asking James Maslow (of “Big Time Rush” and “Dancing with the Stars”) to be her prom date via a YouTube video, made with the help of her family and classmates. They also contributed by tweeting the hashtag #BigTimePromposal.

Maslow couldn’t make the prom date, but he did offer to fly Hannah and her mother and sister to California to see the taping of “Dancing with the Stars” and have a mini pre-prom.
